URWERK UR-110 in Red Gold
In 2011 the URWERK UR-110 was awarded with the prize for Best Design Watch at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève . As of late they delivered another adaptation of the UR-110, presently with a red gold top-case. Again a work of art of horological plan.
URWERK has been at the bleeding edge of watchmaking greatness and imaginative approaches to show time, since the time they dispatched the primary models like the UR-101, UR-102 and UR-103 . The UR-110 features a circling satellite complication, as the fore-mentioned models, yet at this point the hours and minutes are displayed on the correct side of the ‘dial’.
That’s where the moment track is and one of the three hour-satellites, with bolt formed markers, focuses at the minutes as it passes start to finish. The other two hour satellites have time ‘preparing’ for when they need to show the time. This arrangement implies that the hour indicators pivot to show the right hour when it moves toward the moment marker track.
Although it’s no rocket sience, in any event not literally, it’s amazingly complex to make this sensitive and shrewd system: First of all you require a central merry go round giving the complication security and equilibrium. Furthermore the planetary equipping must rotate the three hour-satellites equal, as they ‘orbit’ the dial. What’s more, the three counter-pivoting hour modules – each comprising an hour satellite, pointer and offset – are each mounted on a planetary stuff. These three modules are in steady counter-pivot to offset the course of revolution of the focal carousel.
It consistently sets aside some effort to become accustomed to perusing time on a watch with an alternate method to show time. As a matter of fact I can say that it’s totally conceivable to see time instantly, even on these sort of watches. It could very well take half a day to change your ‘system’. Of the numerous watches with an alternate method to show time, I accept the UR-110 could well be the most straightforward to become acclimated to. Can’t help thinking about why? Indeed, it peruses like a vintage computerized watch, in light of the fact that the hour and moment are practically close to one another and only devided by the bolt formed indicator.
And it looks cool when it tops from under your sleeve!
Even from the side it would seem that a captivating machine, rather than a conventional timepiece.
Besides indicating the hours and minutes, the UR-110 additionally features a Control Board on the dial side with pointers for “Day/Night” and “Oil Change” – URWERK’s administration span show, just as little seconds on a sub dial.
Turning the watch over, the titanium back shows the double turbines that regulate the programmed winding system.
