Pre-SIHH 2012 – Roger Dubuis La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon
During last year’s SIHH Roger Dubuis dispatched the all new La Monégasque assortment . Among the assortment was the La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon in platinum. This year they discharge this model in pink gold… and it looks stunning!
We are very please with the new advancements that occurred at Roger Dubuis. This is something that reflects in the dispatch of the new La Monégasque assortment and by mr. Roger Dubuis, the one who gave the brand its name, who got back to the brand.
The previous CEO, George Kern, likewise CEO of IWC, got this going and we’re anxiously looking forward to the plans the CEO, mr. Jean-Marc Pontroué has for the fate of this lovely brand.
When I got inspired by mechanical wrist watches, Roger Dubuis dispatched another model named the Golden Square I actually recall slobbering over the advertisements of the Golden Square Flying Tourbillon. Indeed, that feeling is back now I see the new La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon.
This new La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon joins all the refinement we enjoyed such a great amount about Roger Dubuis. The complication of a flying tourbillon adds a lot to this since the complication is most connected with fine watchmaking. Yet in addition the refined plan of the La Monégasque assortment, so something that is particularly appreciated.
All specialized features related with fine watchmaking, are to be found in this watch: the hand-wound mechanical development, caliber RD540, is fabricated, amassed and designed by hand. The development, which comprises of 293 parts, meets the new models of the Geneva Seal, which are appropriate since the start of this current year. It runs at a recurrence of 21,600 vibrations each hour (3 Hz) and offers a force hold of 60 hours.
Its case estimates 44 mm in width and is water-impervious to 5 bar (50 meters). On the dial, which is noticeable through a sapphire crystal with hostile to intelligent coating, we see hours and minutes with focal hands, a huge date at 12 o’clock that changes quickly at 12 PM, power hold at 4 and the flying tourbillon at 7 o’clock.
At the focal point of the dial is a silvered circle with a brushed sunray effect. A brushed, rhodium-plated halfway dial conveys the white moved markers illustrated in dark and the brand name, Roger Dubuis. Above and beyond towards the external white moment rail-track, is a brushed anthracite circle, featuring the applied Arabic numerals in pink gold.
The La Monégasque Flying Tourbillon in pink gold is restricted 188 and we’re almost certain this implies there will be 188 exceptionally upbeat watch sweethearts. No word in the cost at this point, however as reference, the cost of the platinum variant was € 166,000 (counting charge) and consider platinum is in every case more expensive.
Altogether we think Roger Dubuis is back progressing nicely and we are amazingly satisfied to see these new turns of events. During the SIHH we will converse with mr. Jean-Marc Pontroué and ask him what we may expect in the coming years.
